The Hispanic Scholarship Fund believes that the country prospers when all Americans have access to the opportunities a college education can afford.  As the nation’s leading Hispanic higher education fund, HSF works to address the barriers that keep many Latinos from earning a college degree. <em>Generation First Degree</em> is an initiative which aims to strengthen the nation’s future by ensuring that every Latino household in the U.S. will have at least one college graduate. In her role as Director, Stephanie is responsible for staff development, technology strategy, process improvements and compliance efforts and oversees HSF administrative and technology staff.</p>
<p>Prior to HSF, Stephanie spent over 17 years in the HR field where she held management positions within the technology, medical device and retail industry as well as held strategic consulting positions at organizations including the SF Opera, Safeway Corporation.  Stephanie is an alumnus of Broward College and Villanova University with a Masters in HR Management and Organizational Development.</p>

<p>In the role of CIO, Susan is responsible for technology strategy, business process improvement, the management of all information systems and telecommunications functions, and the development of development of patron-facing and business growth opportunities, including www.sfopera.com.</p>
<p>The one constant for Susan has been change: change of careers; change of countries of residence; change from corporate to not-for-profit. The common thread for Susan is connecting: connecting people to achieve great results; connecting technology to the needs of the business; connecting people to the power and fulfillment of making a difference in their workplace.</p>
<p>Susan is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland. She worked as a journalist, then a teacher of English as a foreign language in Germany. Susan is on the Board of the Tessitura Network, which provides services and products to benefit a global user community of arts and cultural organizations. She is an active member of a Board Steering Committee that is defining the next generation of Tessitura software for the arts.</p>
<p>Susan graduated with honors (BA Humanities and Social Studies) from the Metropolitan University of Manchester, England.</p>
